ISO 45001 Accreditation

Great Bay Ltd has achieved accreditation in ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

This standard will further make it possible for Great Bay to look beyond their immediate health and safety issues and ensure the wellbeing of its entire staff.

ISO 45001 is much more than just another standard. It will give them a platform to demonstrate due diligence and manage business continuity by minimising poor safety practices and behavior. It will assist in achieving zero incident-related costs and disruption of operations.

The Standard enables the promotion of safe work practices, evaluation of occupational health and safety performance, formal, systematic analysis and management of risk and the management of regulatory compliance.

In the new standard, there is a stronger focus on the organisation’s context, with Greatbay Ltd having to look beyond their own internal health and safety issues and consider what other interested parties expect from them regarding health and safety. It’s about moving health and safety responsibilities to each member of staff which will help them focus on identifying and controlling risks rather than hazards, as is currently required.

In spite of these changes, the overall aim is the same, which is to reduce unacceptable risks and ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in an organisation’s activities.
